USGBC Volunteers

Why should you volunteer with USGBC at Greenbuild ?

Greenbuild couldn't be as successful as it is without the efforts of the USGBC Volunteers who give their time and energy toward organizing and staffing the event.

Registration is now open. If you are a student, please click on the register button above. If you are an emerging professional, please scroll down to the emerging professional section of this page and follow the instructions.


  1. USGBC Volunteers must be a full time student (any age over 18). When you check into the volunteer room, a fall 2019 schedule or a photo ID will be necessary. Full time student is 12 credits undergraduate, and nine credit graduate. 
  2. You must volunteer a minimum of eight hours

Not included in registration

Some events at Greenbuild are not included in full conference registration and are not included in the USGBC volunteer package. This includes:

  • Housing in the host city
  • Tuesday workshops & summits
  • Green building tours (unless you are volunteering for a tour)
  • Greenbuild merchandise (you will have a separate Volunteer T-shirt)
  • Greenbuild Celebration

In exchange for volunteering

Volunteers will receive free admission to the conference, which will provide exciting educational opportunities on the latest in the green building movement, and amazing networking opportunities for students and professionals. This includes access to the opening keynote, expo hall, education sessions, credentials, and the show program. 

Emerging Professionals

A limited number of volunteer positions are available for professionals who have been in the industry for 3 years or fewer. If you are an emerging professional who is interested in volunteering, please begin the registration process here.
